ADI’s Iron Collar Photo Contest and Livestock

Guardian Dog Excellence in Photography Contest

If you haven’t already, it’s time to snap a few pics of your Akbash Dog(s) and send your favorites in for a chance to win an authentic, hand forged Turkish iron collar, and the all-important bragging rights! The results will depend on the quality of the photograph. Please adjust the settings of your phone or camera to take the highest resolution photos possible.

ADI’S IRON COLLAR PHOTO CONTEST RULES

This contest is open only to ADI members.

ADI members can submit up to 3 photos. The submitter must own the rights to the photograph.

Entries are due at midnight, Mountain Standard Time, on October 20, 2025. Please email all entries to David Sims (contest@akbashdogs.org).

Email each photo as an attached file, with your name included in the filename. For example: janesmith 1. In the body of the email, please state your name, the photographer’s name, and the name of the dog(s). ADI may contact you to request additional information or a caption, so please provide a valid email address.

The photo(s) must show at least 1 Akbash Dog, either a purebred or a cross that definitely has the form, structure, and appearance of an Akbash Dog. The dog(s) can be at work or at play, young or old.

By submitting images to this contest, you are giving ADI permission to publish the image in the Akbash Sentinel, on its website, in a calendar, and/or in other ADI-related media.

Prizes:

• First: an authentic, hand forged in Türkiye, iron collar; the photo as the cover shot for the last Sentinel of 2025 and a full 2026 ADI membership.

• Second: a full 2026 ADI membership and a 2026 ADI calendar.

• Third: a 2026 ADI e-membership and a 2026 ADI
